Nairobi is the capital City of Kenya and like any developing city there are plenty of eating places around! However so, you must not eat at any restaurant though to avoid stomach upset or uncomfortabilities. Nairobi carries chains of Restaurants and take away joints at every corner of the city but a few restaurants are below recommended from past experience.

NAIROBI CARNIVORE RESTAURANT

Carnivore is a game and beef-eating restaurant in Nairobi that also serves Vegetarians on request. The Restaurant specialize on Game meat and the Majority of the game includes Zebra, Crocodile, Hartebeest, Dik Dik, Antelope, Ostrich, Giraffe, among others.
The restaurant is one of the world's voted best restaurants and actually the leading restaurant in Kenya. With its Best Experience of Beef eating and with an "ëat as much as you can" motto, Carnivore offers a wide restaurant styles from haute cuisine’s to honest down to earth good food, and vegetarian. History

Carnivore Restaurant was started in Kenya way back in 1980, by the Tamarind group. Hosting nearly over 2 million customers from all over the world with a credit from each one, this also has been cheered up by celebrities from the last 21 years of experience and service. For those great years of operation Carnivore has enhanced Kenya with its experience a lot, uplifting the Kenyan Tourism as a tourist Destination, and leaving behind this beautiful saying "if you have not been to Carnivore, you have not been to Kenya!!

How to Get there.

Carnivore Restaurant is nicely located off the Langata Road past the Wilson Airport and to the interiors past the Newly Uchumi Supermarket. There are sings so it is very easy to locate the restaurant, using the directions and the sign posts on the roads.
There are also Public services and shuttle buses plying this route but they leave you at the main road entry ,just at Uchumi Supermarket, where you can get a taxi if not so late. Otherwise take a taxi from town or your point to carnivore straight. There are many taxis at Carnivore too, so incase you want to have a late night, you always have a choice of taking one outside the restaurant at your convenient time.

Eating Times
Dinner
At Carnivore Restaurant Dinner starts at 7pm and despite the abundance of space, and many a time the restaurant can get very, very busy! If so then, there is usually a second lot booking which starts at 10pm after the first lots are out. It is not necessary that they leave right after dinner because of the cool atmosphere there, and the many bars just to the surroundings all belonging to restaurant will give waiting or after dinner space to guests while your drinks can be served from here as well. The Simba Disco just within gives an advantage of daring the night out if so wish.

Lunch
The carnivore restaurant offers lunch daily as from 12:30 PM and goes on till 3pm. The same routine is applied whereby you can make booking for your particular times within this given times. Blue Nile Ethiopian Restaurant located at the Argwings Kodhek's road and the best to get there is to get a number 46 Nissan matatu and alight just infront of the hotel.
Antonios Restaurant behind the Holy family basilica - offers best food and cuisine , there is breakfast, and its open on Sundays!- serves Mexican foods.

TAMARIND RESTAURANT
Tamarind is one of the leading sea-food restaurants in Mombasa. The restaurant is the best and with fresh live seafoods from the Indian Ocean. This restaurant remains the catch on the Island, and the hospitality is of great value, with a wide variety of Sea foods, exotic European, Eastern, and Swahili, recipes. Tamarind has maintained its class for its true experience as a Sea food restaurant on the coast. Tamarind Restaurant is perfectly located in the lavishly posh area of Nyali on a cliff top overlooking the Indian
Ocean and the old Mombasa Harbor. In Nairobi Tamarind Exists and is located along the Harambee Avenue.

How to get there.

Transport is quite uniquely arranged to and from this exotic Restaurant whereby they pick and drop the clients on an inclusive rate. Otherwise if self driving it can be arranged too. Most of the tourists opt for the inclusive rate, but if taking extra time after dinner may be dropped at the Bora Bora then they always take a taxi back to their hotels at their convenient times. Bookings: Tourist or individuals can book through their respective travel agents or directly with Tamarind Restaurant.

Eating times
Dinner and lunch are the 2 offered specialties and with this you can have a lot to tell about the Restaurant!
Dinner and starts at 7 PM and goes on till 11:30. Lunch starts at 12:30 PM and goes on till 3 PM, make sure you do your reservation to avoid overbooking. Tamarind, is the best recommended Sea food Place in Mombasa!

TRATORIA RESTAURANT
Tratoria is an Italian Restaurant in the Heart of Nairobi City. Located at Wabera Street behind Steers the restaurant mainly offers a daily special each day and specializes in Italian Cuisine's. However so Tratoria restaurant offers a wide variety of other special al Carte menu and water mouthing delicious meals every day. Specializing in Seafood's and other menu, Tratoria serves Fish, Calamari, Crabs, Oysters, Lobster, and also charcoal grills.
Every Tuesdays and Friday the Restaurant presents a perfect sea food specialties to reach the demand, and to keep to its standards.
The restaurant opens daily (7 days a Week) from 7am with a continental Breakfast, and remains open throughout out for lunch and Dinner till 12 PM.
Tratoria offers a considerable rate for transfers to interested clients on request, for pick up/drop-off on a unique van fully equipped with a radio call facility to keep the clients away from the outside hustling. Dinner is served on a light music background and sometime there is entertainment especially on special occasions.
History.
Tratoria Restaurant was opened way back in 1981 and under Italian management. It has managed to come up to this point for its good services and delicious meals all being possible by the co-operation & good supervision of the management and the staff. The restaurant caters for all its own pastries and is most recommended for its nice cooling ice-creams. Within town, Tratoria is the place!

KENGELES RESTAURANT.
These are a chain of restaurants within the city and provide tourist as well as local people with both cuisine’s at a very unique standard! Not one will complain of their stomach, and thus keeping the restaurants name in the top recommendations. One of the city center Kengeles Restaurant is situated at the famous Koinange Street just within the city centre at the Kenol house Building and right opposite the Standard Bank. The menu is A la Cater and stays open till late,(midnight). Other Kengeles Restaurants are found around the Nyayo Stadium, Opposit Yaya Centre Lavington, and more.

The Horseman - which is located at Karen shopping center and serves all kind of food and pastas and grills
Ibis Grill -located at the Norfolk Hotel, and has a class of its own serving all kinds of al carte menu. It is really specious and at the right atmosphere!
The Mandharil this is located at the Serena Hotel and a tourist class restaurant. The standards matches the
prices here!

The Handi (The Mall, Wetlands) - Nawab Tandoori (Muthaiga Shopping Center) - Out of the way, but also pretty good.
ShoGun (Argwings Kodhek Rd, Westlands) - Japanese for the Japanese with California rolls thrown in.
Chopsticks (Westlands) - Good sloppy Chinese
China Plate (Chancery House) - Standard but good.

Nandos Restaurant: are also another group of Restaurants and take away, and within the city center opposite the Hilton along the Maui Avenue street. Other Nandos in town include along Moi Avenue, and Wetlands Nandos, Gong Road Nandos, Lavington etc.
