Tanzania- Accomodation in the Parks

Accommodation -Lake Manyara National Park

Lake Manyara Hotel

Situated some 80 miles from Arusha on the Western escarpment of the Rift Valley, 4,500 ft above the sea level, the lake Manyara Hotel overlooks glassy lake Manyara. Each of the 100 rooms affords magnificent views of the Rift Valley, and the Hotels facilities include a swimming pool, superb, terrace, and a boutique offering local art objects. The restaurant gets its daily produce from the local farm, and the bar is a friendly meeting point where guests can relax with a cocktail in hand and exchange stories of their days adventures. Thanks to its compact size Manyara National Park is ideal for viewing a wide variety of plant and animal life in a concentrated area. Nestled at the base of a dramatic rift escarpment, the Park’s unusual ground-water forest is a preserve for Giraffe, Buffalo, Impala, Zebra, Elephant and most notably for Lion, which for reasons unknown, sleep in the branches of Acacia trees.

Manyara’s most stunning feature, however is the lake which covers two- thirds of the Parks surface. Tinted pink by the myriad flamingos that make their home here, it is a sanctuary for countless other birds species, and is considered the best place in northern Tanzania to observe Hippo.
